GLOW WIB Honors Businesses of the Year at Annual Breakfast Event
The Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Wyoming Workforce Investment Board (GLOW WIB) honored four businesses in the Finger Lakes WIRED emerging industry areas of food and agriculture, healthcare and alternative energy.
The businesses recognized were:
O-AT-KA Milk Products Cooperative, Inc. in Genesee County – A progressive dairy cooperative that utilized the Genesee County Career Center to hire 31 individuals through workforce services provided by listing jobs, holding specific recruitments and conducting testing on prospective hires.
The Livingston Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Livingston County – A 24 hour skilled nursing facility that utilized the Livingston County Office of Workforce Development to meet a demand for Certified Nursing Assistants by training and hiring 34 CNAs to meet the facility needs.
Western New York Energy, LLC in Orleans County – A development stage company committed to the construction and operation of a 50 million gallon per year fuel grade ethanol plan in Shelby, NY. They are committed to developing renewable energy resources in the region. They worked with the Orleans Center for Workforce Development to post jobs, screen applicants, recruit, hire, and train individuals with WIA funds.
Wyoming County Community Hospital in Wyoming County – One of the largest employers in Wyoming County with over 600 employees has utilized WIA Training funds for several years. They have worked with the Wyoming County Community Action office to create training opportunities to meet skill demands as well a hired many individuals.
