Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Camp – Explore Your Future: A program for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students

Project Description
This six-day career exploration program provides deaf and hard-of-hearing students with hands-on learning experiences, career counseling and outdoor education in STEM-related career fields, focusing on business, engineering, imaging arts, IT and the sciences.

Course activities include career exploration labs, including the investigation of a crime scene in a forensic analysis laboratory, designed to give students hands-on experience in a work environment and increase their knowledge regarding STEM careers, while also increasing their leadership skills and self-awareness.

Outcome from Using the Product

  • Attract local youth to explore the possibilities linked to schooling and careers in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Inspire parents and educators to encourage pursuit of STEM educational choices for young people
  • Enhance awareness of the region as a premier locale for a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics career opportunities.
