Regional Apprenticeship System

Project Description
The Regional Apprenticeship system provides structured career pathways in Bio-manufacturing, Healthcare and Optics/Printing/Manufacturing for students and workers through a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom and laboratory instruction. The system is a collaboration between three independently operated community colleges with geographically determined service areas.
Through the implementation of this system the three colleges are now working together to share collaboration and planning efforts, as well as program development practices to better provide an adequate supply of technician-level workers with transferable skills and industry-recognized credentials.

Outcome from Using the Product

  • Identify the benefit(s) users will derive from replicating the product.
  • Technician-level, transferable skills and industry-recognized credentials for workers in Bio-manufacturing, Healthcare and Optics/Printing/Manufacturing.  
  • Increased collaboration between local post-secondary educational institutions
